"For years, I found it difficult painting outside. I didn't want people to see me or my art. I was embarrassed and self-conscious.
It wasn't until I started researching the masters that I realized that I was missing out.
Big Time.
Do you think Turner copied from photographs?
Why do you think he was so good? He painted outside.
They all did. Even today's masters.
So that gave me a kick up the ass, I honed in on getting the right kit, the right attitude, and then... my art improved dramatically.
Of course, I was still insecure. That doesn't really go away to be honest, but I started to find places to paint where I wouldn't be disturbed.
And it gets addictive. Magic happens. And it eventually feels weird to paint inside!
But I didn't just get better at painting. My mind got better too, and I became more positive in general and good things started to happen.
Painting outside makes you better at painting, but it also gives you peace, for sure.
And if the weather is shit (I live in Ireland), then I paint in my car or in a café!
It's all good. Really good.
And you can go ANYWHERE with it.
Plein Air Painting is the ultimate healing companion and can improve your life too.
Let me show you how."
